The Nintendo Switch is DOOMed

Hell at home and on the go

A HELL OF A SURPRISE

DOOM for the Nintendo Switch is by far one of my most favourite announcements of the September 13 Nintendo Direct. As we said in the past, Nintendo had a lot of surprises for 2017. And this is a big one. Some gameplay footage was shown in the Direct, with early comparisons showing it to be on par with the PS4 version.

A BEAST OF A CONSOLE

The fact that such a big first-person shooter has managed to make its way on the Switch is a testament to how well it is doing. This is the first Doom game to hit a Nintendo console since the original Doom on Game Boy Advance, which left a bitter taste in gamer’s mouths. Not this time though. Switch owners can expect the full single-player campaign when buying the retail version, with the option to download the multiplayer mode for free from the eShop.

RELEASE DATE?

You can expect DOOM on Nintendo Switch this Holiday season.

All in all, I can’t wait to use my joy-cons to kick some demon ass on my Switch. Bethesda is supporting the Switch with big titles and gamers will return the favour with good sales numbers. Is this what everyone was talking about when they were saying the Switch is doomed?
