Microsoft announced yesterday that will no longer support IE8, IE9 and IE10 editions of company’s famous browser. About the last 4-5 years Internet Explorer issued many problems and flaws that got its crowd mad, forcing them on switching to a new browser from another company. Nevertheless, Internet Explorer was the most common browser from the past that succeeded to reach a high percentage of the user’s browser choice. Today, around 340 Million Users are still using IE as their browser.

Why stopping the support for those versions is critical?
End of support means there will be no more security updates, non-security updates, free or paid assisted support options, or online technical content updates. This makes users vulnerable to threats and security issues. Without critical browser security updates, your PC may become vulnerable to harmful viruses, spyware, and other malicious software which can steal or damage your business data and information. Plus, there are many software vendors that no longer support older versions of Internet Explorer.
Some people, companies or organizations are still using many legacy web applications designed for older versions of IE. IE11 will still be supported on Windows 7, 8/8.1 and 10 with an Enterprise Mode offers better backward compatibility in order to help customers who have a business need for using Internet Explorer 11. Microsoft is committed to supporting Enterprise Mode as a feature of Internet Explorer 11.

The company released yesterday a patch for the older versions of the browser called: The new “End of Life” upgrade notification for Internet Explorer (KB3123303) in order to force the users of the older versions of IE to switch to IE11 and get informed about the end of support.

How to upgrade?
If you are a home user and you want to upgrade your IE into the latest version as IE11, just Check for Updates from Windows Update portion of the Control Panel. If your business needs an upgrade, it’s better to contact your Microsoft Services or your Certified Microsoft Partner.

How long will the most current version of Internet Explorer remain supported?
