Hi, sadly I'm not alone I guess. My bad experience was with an Umidigi Z2 (Helio P23, 6GB+64GB, 6.2’’
Full-Screen FHD+ Display), this phone specs were amazing at the time. I'm from Argentina and it took a month to arrive, I was excited by the display, the gaming and all around performance that I used it at the first moment with the battery half charged, as it came. When the battery counter reach 10% I decided that was a good time to put it to charge ... surprisingly when I plug the cable in, the phone didn't charge. I tried several cables and chargers, with no luck, the battery was draining and there was no way to make it charge.
The so called “Customer service” told me to contact the seller I bought it from, I did it, but he refuses to take any responsibility and I ended with a brick now. Don't buy anything from Umidigi unless you have plenty of money and no sense of frustration.

This article is ridiculous. The phones are dirt cheap and you get what you pay for. Even a flagship phone is lucky to last a year. I go through phones about every 6 months. Either I drop them, get them wet, or lose them. So the Umi is perfect. Warranty service with any company sucks. For what you paid you got a good deal.

I'm sorry, but you're an idiot if you think you're going to get a good experience paying 1/8th the price for something.

Yes there ar problems with the Umi. I've been through 2 this month, and still trying to fix the bullshit APN settings. But I only paid $189 for a $1000 phone.

Deal with it.

In reply to <a href="https://www.badfive.com/umidigi-rant-bad-experience-dont-buy/#comment-2044">Jazz</a>.

I have experiences with A3 (62 €) and S2 Lite (95 €)

S2 lite is crashing every day, and the battery is very weak, although they advertise it as a 2 day 5100 mAH battery, but a regular phone with a 3000mAH from a reliable brand works longer.

S2 lite bluetooth is also disconnecting every now and then super annoyingly. The software is slow to respond, just opening the phone can at times take 5 seconds. (other phones do it in less than 1 second). The promised Android 8.1 update was a lie, stuck in 7.0.

The A3 model, a budget model, on the other hand works so far so good (1 month of usage). It's not fast, but atleast compared to the S2 lite it works.

Worst part is that the supplier refuses to take any responsibility, and they are the official Ali Umidigi store.

In the future I will never buy Umidigi again, and I will stick to a well known brand. If I have to choose a chinese Brand I would buy Xiaomi. I have good experiences with Honor phones as well. Samsung is decent too, J7+.

Yeah, my experience is so far quite similar to yours. In Nov 2018, I decided to buy the Z2 Pro (Helio P60, 128gb, 6gb ram). On arrival it worked amazing...for a few hours. The speakers started doing this strange thing: They'd play for a few seconds then stop. Resetting, Restoring, even flashing the phone did not fix the problem.

Umidigi - advertising their one year warranty - didn't even bother to responding to my emails. I contacted the seller who after almost 2 months of back and forth, finally agreed to a $40 refund - after initially offering $20 and being unable to get me any replacement parts. (Both the fingerprint sensor and loudspeaker were not working).

I'm still using it because everything else works great - and I got a Samsung Note 8 and a ZTE Axon 7 to fall back on. But with what you experiences and my personal experience with them...I have some "fun" surprises to look forward to...
